Overall, the defending champions LHQ are struggling with batting majorly and should look for improvement in the upcoming matches in the season. On the bowling front, Skipper Shaheen Afridi is strong and key performer in the bowling line-up and will look stronger to bounce back and stop the losing streak and in Match 26 against Quetta Gladiators winning is crucial to move up in the PSL 2026 standings.

Quetta Gladiators Preview and Performance

Quetta Gladiators have had a pretty up and down PSL 2026 campaign so far. They are sitting fifth in the table, having played six matches with two wins and four losses, collecting four points and a net run rate of +0.258.

QTG kicked off their season in Match 2 against Karachi Kings but went down by 14 runs, with Shamyl Hussain catching the eye with a quickfire 52 off 24 balls. They bounced back well in Match 5 against Hyderabad Kingsmen, winning by 40 runs — Abrar Ahmed grabbed 3 wickets for 23 and Shamyl Hussain walked away with the Player of the Match award.

That momentum didn’t last long though. Match 9 against Islamabad United was a tough one — Quetta posted 183/5 but United chased it down with plenty to spare, losing by 8 wickets. Then in Match 13, Multan Sultans beat them by 6 wickets despite Saud Shakeel hitting 56 and Bevon Jacobs chipping in with an unbeaten 49.

They got back to winning ways in Match 18 against Rawalpindi, winning convincingly by 61 runs. Rilee Rossouw made 53 and Hasan Nawaz smashed a quickfire 39 off just 16 balls. But their most recent outing in Match 23 against Peshawar Zalmi on April 15 at National Stadium Karachi was a disappointing one — bowled out for just 154, with Hasan Nawaz top scoring on 37 off 35, Rossouw adding 26 off 18 and Khawaja Nafay contributing 20 off 13. Peshawar chased it down easily, winning by 8 wickets.

With the bat, Hasan Nawaz has been their standout performer with 234 runs at 46.80 including two fifties, while Saud Shakeel has been the anchor with 193 runs at 32.16. Abrar Ahmed leads the bowling with 7 wickets, and Usman Tariq has been very tidy in the middle overs with an economy of 6.79. Rossouw has chipped in with 158 runs but the middle order remains fragile, as that 154 all-out against Peshawar showed. With Match 26 against Lahore Qalandars coming up, a win is absolutely must for Quetta if they want to push up the standings.

LHQ vs QTG Match 26 Pitch Report — National Stadium, Karachi

Karachi has hosted 9 matches so far this season, and the surface hasn’t played the same way throughout. It started off as a run-fest, but in the last few games, scoring has clearly dipped and batters have had to work harder. Sides batting first have won about 44% of the time, while chasing teams are slightly ahead at around 56%, mostly because the ball gets harder to grip once the dew settles in later. There’s a hint of movement for the quicks early on, but as the pitch wears, spinners are coming into play more often, taking close to half the wickets in recent matches.

Today’s PSL Toss Prediction | LHQ vs QTG – PSL 2026

Looking at today’s PSL toss prediction for LHQ vs QTG, our pick is Lahore Qalandars to win the toss and go in to bat first — they’ve been solid with the bat this season and will want to set the tempo early. On the flip side, if Quetta Gladiators get lucky with the coin, don’t expect anything different from them either, as they’ll likely take the same route and opt to bat first too. So no matter who wins the toss today, batting first seems the way to go in this one.
Toss Prediction: Both captains will look to bat first.
