Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) Preview and Performance

RCB go into this match on the back of seven wins from 11, sitting top of the table with 14 points and an NRR of +1.103. No other side is close on that last number.

The win over Mumbai three days ago was about as tight as it gets. Bhuvneshwar Kumar took 4/23 with the ball, then walked in at the death and nudged them over the line. Two jobs in one game.

Batting

Kohli has been the anchor throughout. 379 runs from 11 matches at 42.11, striking at 163. Three fifties, a top score of 81, and he’s made it count in the big moments. He’s not the only one carrying the batting either.

Padikkal and Patidar have given RCB real depth at the top. Padikkal has 328 runs at a strike rate of 176, Patidar sits just below on 326 at 195. Both have three fifties each. That’s three batters in the top 20 run-scorers of the tournament from one side.

David at five is the finisher. 232 runs from 118 balls, five not-outs in 10 innings, and an unbeaten 70 against CSK that took the game away from them inside the last four overs. He comes in when it’s difficult and usually makes it look less so.

Bowling

Bhuvneshwar holds the Purple Cap with 21 wickets from 11 matches at 15.28. His economy of 7.46 is what separates him. He’s not bowling with a cushion, he’s building pressure while taking wickets.

Hazlewood and Krunal both sit on 10 wickets, with Rasikh Dar adding eight from seven appearances. Four bowlers contributing in double figures gives RCB options and flexibility most sides don’t have at this stage of the tournament.

Three group stage games left. The defending champions are putting together the kind of campaign that makes you think last year was no fluke. Against KKR in the 57th match, RCB look the stronger side on paper and on recent form.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) Preview and Performance

KKR come into this match from a completely different place compared to where they were a month ago. Eight points from five wins, sitting eighth, and a negative NRR of -0.169 tells the story of a side that dropped too many early on. But the last four games tell a different story.

Four wins on the bounce against Rajasthan, Lucknow, Sunrisers, and Delhi. The 8-wicket win over Delhi with 34 balls to spare was the most convincing of the lot, and it’s the kind of result that shifts confidence in a dressing room.

Wednesday at Raipur is as close to a must-win as it gets for them.

Batting

Finn Allen is the name everyone is talking about after his 100 not out off 47 balls against Delhi. His overall numbers across seven innings, 210 runs at a strike rate of 205, show what he’s capable of when he gets going. The problem is he’s played three fewer games than most others in the side.

Rinku Singh has been the most consistent of the lot. 237 runs at an average of 59.25, four not-outs in eight innings, with an unbeaten 83 as his best. He’s been the one steadying chases when wickets fall.

Raghuvanshi leads the run charts for KKR with 269 from 10 matches, though his strike rate of 135 is a touch conservative compared to what’s around him. Cameron Green has 232 runs at 146 strike rate, and Rahane has chipped in with 218, though at 132 he’s the slowest scorer of the group.

Five batters with over 200 runs gives KKR decent depth. The concern is none of them are scoring at the pace RCB’s top order is.

Bowling

Narine’s economy of 6.51 stands out on a KKR bowling sheet that otherwise looks expensive. Tyagi leads the wickets with 13 from 10 games but at an economy of 9.00, and Vaibhav Arora has conceded over 10 an over across his nine innings.

Varun Chakaravarthy and Anukul Roy both sit on 10 and 8 wickets respectively, and the spin combination of Narine, Varun, and Anukul could be the key weapon on a Raipur surface that may offer turn.

The bowling unit has enough variety to cause problems, but the economy rates across the pace attack are a concern against a batting line-up as aggressive as RCB’s.

KKR have found form at the right time and their playoff survival depends on results like this one going their way. They will push hard in Raipur, and four straight wins means they carry genuine belief into this fixture. But the defending champions are a different level of test.

Key Players to Watch — RCB vs KKR, Match 57, IPL 2026

 Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB)
  • Virat Kohli: Top of RCB’s run charts with 379 from 11 games. Averages 42 but strikes at 163, so he’s not just occupying the crease. KKR will want him gone early, and that’s been easier said than done all season.
  • Tim David: 196 strike rate. Five not-outs in ten innings. The man comes in when it’s complicated and bats like it isn’t. His 70 off 25 against CSK this season is the kind of cameo that wins games before opponents realize what’s happened.
  • Bhuvneshwar Kumar: 21 wickets, economy of 7.46, Purple Cap. At this point in the season those three facts say enough. KKR’s openers have a tough first four overs ahead of them.
  • Josh Hazlewood: Took 4/12 against Delhi this season. Hasn’t played every game but has been hard to score off when he has. Gives RCB genuine pace at the top, something KKR will have to account for in their batting plans.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)
  • Finn Allen:100 not out off 47 balls last time out. Strikes at 205 across seven innings this season. On his day he changes the shape of a game inside the powerplay. Whether he gets going here will matter a lot for KKR’s total.
  • Rinku Singh: 59.25 average, four not-outs, best of 83 unbeaten. The numbers reflect what anyone watching KKR this season already knows. He bats best when it’s hardest, and with KKR needing a result here, he’s likely to get that situation again.
  • Sunil Narine: Economy of 6.51 while everyone around him leaks runs. In a side where two bowlers are going at over 10 an over, Narine’s control is what keeps KKR in the game through the middle overs.
  • Varun Chakaravarthy: 10 wickets at 8.62 economy. Pairs with Narine in a spin combination that can be awkward to read, especially in the 7-15 over range. If Raipur’s surface has anything in it for spinners, these two could shape the match.

RCB vs KKR Weather Report Raipur| May 13

RCB vs KKR Match 57 Pitch Report — Nava Raipur International Cricket Stadium

The black soil surface at Nava Raipur tends to offer pacers something early before slowing up as the innings progresses. Average first innings scores sit around 149, and with boundaries stretching 70 to 75 metres straight, batters have to work harder for the big shots. Dew in the evening has been a consistent factor here, and RCB’s last outing at this ground ended in a win batting second. Chasing sides have an advantage, and whoever wins the toss is likely to keep that in mind.

RCB vs KKR Toss Prediction — Match 57, IPL 2026

Our IPL toss prediction for this one is RCB to win it and elect to bowl. The dew factor at Raipur in the evening makes chasing the smarter call, and RCB’s bowling attack is strong enough to defend totals as well as chase them down. If KKR win the toss, expect the same thinking from their camp. Both sides know this ground, both know what the conditions bring in the second innings, and neither is likely to bat first by choice.

Toss Prediction: Toss winner will bowl first. We back RCB to win the toss.

RCB vs KKR Betting Tips Today

Based on form, stats, and what Raipur typically serves up, here are our tips for Match 57.

1

RCB to win the match: Seven wins from 11, best NRR in the competition, and a bowling attack that has been taking wickets all season. KKR’s recent run is impressive but this is a step up.

2

Bhuvneshwar Kumar to take 2 or more wickets: 21 wickets at 15.28 this season. He’s done it in 11 straight games and there’s no reason to think KKR change that trend.

3

Virat Kohli to be top RCB batter: 379 runs from 11 matches and he tends to show up when the game matters. KKR will need to get him early or pay for it.

4

Finn Allen to be top KKR batter: Struck at 205 this season and scored a century last game. He’s in the kind of form where you back him to go again.

5

Match total to go under 160: Black soil pitch, 70-75m straight boundaries, average first innings score of 149 at this ground. The numbers point one way.

6

Toss winner to bowl first: Dew makes the second innings easier to bat in. Neither captain will want to be setting a target here.

7

RCB to win by 20-plus runs or 4-plus wickets: The gap between these two sides in overall performance this season is hard to ignore, even accounting for KKR’s four-match winning run.
