Team Preview and Performance

QTG

The Quetta Gladiators (QTG) are still struggling in the PSL 2026 season, having played 4 matches with one win and three losses, and currently sitting in 6th position with a negative net run rate of -0.223.

In their opening match 2 against Karachi Kings lost by 140 runs, while bowling first, bowlers leaked 181/7 in 20 overs, Quetta failed to chase 182, batters ended at 167/7 in 20 overs.

In match 5 they made comeback by winning by 40 runs against Hyderabad Kingsmen, while batting first posted 174/8 in 20 overs Shamyl Hussain and Hasan Nawaz both are key batters for the match played half century innings. While restricting the chase bowlers did pretty well in the spin department especially Abrar Ahmed took three wickets bowled 4 overs and 23 runs leaked along with him Ahmed Daniyal took two crucial wickets. Shamyl Hussain was awarded the player of the match for his impressive batting 54 runs in 41 balls with strike rate of 131.71.

And in match 9 against Islamabad United lost by 8 wickets. Quetta scored 183/5 in 20 overs, including an excellent batting by Hasan Nawaz scoring alone 66 in 36 balls. But ISU chased easily in 18.2 overs, bowlers leaked too many runs and failed to take wickets, with only Abrar Ahmed taking two wickets with economy of 7.20.

And in the recent previous match 13 against Multan Sultans lost again by 6 wickets, while batting first Quetta posted 166/7 in 20 overs openers failed to perform well early, after that Saud Shakeel took the responsibility and scored 56 runs in 41 balls and in the middle order Bevon Jacobs’ batting was impressive and crucial for the team scored 43 runs in 31 balls and in the end Ahmed Daniyal scored a quick-fire 22 in 9 balls, later Multan Sultans chased successfully in 17.4 overs, Hasan Nawaz played an impressive all-rounder player for the team while batting he scored 20 runs and while bowling he took two wickets while chasing along with skipper Saud Shakeel and Alzarri Joseph took one wicket each.

Overall QTG are struggling, their consistency is lacking, especially in bowling. In Match 18 against Rawalpindiz they face a stronger bowling attack this season with backing their bowling balanced in the team.

Rawalpindiz

Rawalpindiz (RWP) come into Match 18 as the most expensive franchise in PSL history, but their debut season has been anything but glamorous. Four matches, four losses โ€” they currently sit bottom of the table in 8th position with no points on the board yet.

In their opening Match 3 against Peshawar Zalmi, RWP posted a competitive 214/4 with Yasir Khan blasting 83 in a brilliant individual display. However, the bowling attack failed to defend it and Zalmi chased it down with 5 balls to spare.

In Match 10 against Karachi Kings, Daryl Mitchell contributed a solid 65 as RWP scored 197/6, but once again the bowlers could not hold their nerve and KK chased it down in the final over.

In Match 12 against Islamabad United, RWP were restricted to just 156/7 with Kamran Ghulam’s 50 holding the innings together. IU made short work of the chase, wrapping it up in 14.2 overs.

In their most recent Match 14 against Multan Sultans, Sam Billings hit an unbeaten 56 to push RWP to 182/8 but Sultans chased it comfortably in 17.3 overs. Despite the struggles, Sam Billings leads the run charts for the side with 139 runs, Daryl Mitchell has contributed 124 runs and 3 wickets and Mohammad Amir remains their most economical bowler with 5 wickets so far.

Overall, RWP have the batting firepower to post big totals but their bowling consistency has cost them in every single game this season. In Match 18 against Quetta Gladiators, they will look to turn things around and register their first win of the PSL 2026 campaign.

QTG vs RWP Key Players to Watch โ€” Match 18, PSL 2026

QTG
  • Hasan Nawaz: 158 runs in 4 innings at 52.66 โ€” no Quetta batter has looked more comfortable this season. RWP will need to find a way to get him early, because once he is set, he is very hard to shift.
  • Abrar Ahmed: 6 wickets in 4 matches with a best of 3/23 and Quetta’s most dangerous bowler by some distance. Gets sharp turn and his variations are hard to read โ€” RWP’s batting lineup has been shaky enough without having to deal with him.
  • Saud Shakeel: The captain has quietly put together 135 runs holding the middle order together when the top order has wobbled. Does not always grab headlines but Quetta’s innings tend to fall apart when he does not fire.
  • Shamyl Hussain: 129 runs and more boundaries than anyone else in this Quetta side. Hussain comes hard at the bowling from ball one and that is exactly the kind of start that puts pressure on any attack.
Rawalpindiz (RWP)
  • Sam Billings: 139 runs and two fifties โ€” Billings has been the one batter RWP can genuinely rely on. Every time this side has needed someone to step up, he has been there.
  • Kamran Ghulam: 132 runs at 33.00 and growing in confidence each game. Has been finding his feet and looks dangerous when he gets going in the middle overs.
  • Daryl Mitchell: Bats, bowls, contributes โ€” 124 runs and 3 wickets sums up what Mitchell brings. His performance against Karachi Kings alone showed he can win a game almost single-handedly.
  • Mohammad Amir: Five wickets and still the only RWP bowler who looks like taking one on any given delivery. In a side that has been leaking runs all season, he is carrying the bowling attack almost on his own.

QTG vs RWP Match 18 Pitch Report โ€” National Stadium, Karachi

National Stadium Karachi is a flat, batter-friendly surface with true bounce and short side boundaries of 61mโ€“70m โ€” power hitters like Sam Billings and Hasan Nawaz will fancy their chances here. The average first innings score sits around 173 but expect scores to push higher as the tournament settles into the Karachi leg.

Chasing is the clear advantage at this venue with teams bowling first winning 72% of matches in PSL 2026 โ€” dew in the evening makes the ball slippery and defending totals extremely difficult. Pacers have taken 65% of wickets here this season but Abrar Ahmed could be a real threat as the pitch wears down in the second innings.

Both captains will almost certainly look to bowl first at the toss.

QTG vs RWP Toss Prediction – PSL 2026

With dew expected to play a significant role at National Stadium Karachi and chasing sides winning 72% of matches at this venue in PSL 2026, both captains will be desperate to bowl first. According to our toss prediction, Quetta Gladiators are expected to win the toss and elect to bowl first in Match 18.

QTG vs RWP PSL Head-to-Head Records

Quetta Gladiators and Rawalpindiz have no head-to-head history to speak of โ€” this is their first ever meeting in PSL cricket. Rawalpindiz are a brand new franchise making their debut in PSL 2026, so there are no past records or trends to draw from. Match 18 will be the first chapter in what could become a long rivalry between these two sides.

QTG vs RWP Today Match Prediction-Who Will Win today?

RWP have shown they can bat but four games without a win tells its own story. Quetta come into this match with more experience, a sharper bowling attack and the conditions at Karachi likely to suit their spinners as the pitch wears down. With Abrar Ahmed in form and Hasan Nawaz looking dangerous with the bat, our QTG vs RWP Today Match Prediction is Quetta Gladiators to get the job done and pick up a crucial win in Match 18 of PSL 2026.
