Team Preview and Performance
Lahore Qalandars
The defending Champions Lahore Qalandars started the season well, winning their opening match and in the previous match lost to Karachi Kings in Match 6, PSL 2026. They currently sit in fourth position on the points table with a net run rate of 1.567.
In the previous match, captain Shaheen Afridi after winning the toss, made the decision to bat first. The opening batters Mohammad Naeem scored 13 runs and Fakhar Zaman scored one run. Both openers went early. Abdullah Shafique then led the batting and scored 33 runs in 24 balls, while Haseebullah Khan scored 28 runs and Sikandar Raza managed 19 runs. The LHQ scored a total of 128/9 in 20 overs.
While restricting the chase, the bowlers did pretty well, especially Shaheen Afridi was fabulous and took 4 crucial wickets while Haris Rauf and Sikandar Raza took one wicket each but it was not enough and they lost to KRK by four wickets.
Adding to their troubles, opener Fakhar Zaman has been banned for two matches due to ball tampering, which is a big blow to the LHQ batting lineup heading into this match. Abdullah Shafique or Mohammad Farooq is expected to come in as his replacement and take the opening spot against Multan Sultans.
Overall the team are defending champions, well balanced with both bat and ball, and will look to bounce back in this 11th match against Multan Sultans, especially in the batting line need to be balanced well and openers should make a comeback as they did in their opening match.
Multan Sultans
The Multan Sultans (MS) have had a tremendous run this season, winning back to back matches. They defeated ISU by 5 wickets in the opening match and followed it up with a 6 wicket win against HYK in the recent match.
While looking at their performance, they never looked out of the game during the chase. Sahibzada Farhan scored a century, hitting 106 runs off 57 balls along with Steven Smith scoring 46 runs in the opening partnership of 104 runs in 49 balls.
Steven Smith fell in the 8th over and Josh Philippe followed soon after. Shan Masood then made quick fire runs of 29 in 16 balls along with Arafat Minhas who also scored 26 runs and took the victory by chasing 225 runs.
While the bowlers did well in the starting to stop the runs, only Mohammad Wasim Jr took 2 wickets with a bowling economy of 9.20 along with Ashton Turner (c), Mohammad Nawaz and Peter Siddle sharing one wicket each.
Overall the team is well balanced and unbeatable in the season. They need to improve in the bowling lineup and Multan Sultans will look for the victory in this 11th match against the defending champions LHQ.

LHQ vs MSU Key Players to Watch โ Match 11, PSL 2026
MS
- Sahibzada Farhan: Farhan is the standout batter of this PSL season and sits at the top of the Orange Cap standings. His 103 off 58 balls against Hyderabad Kingsmen was not just a big knock โ it showed he can take a game away from any side on his own. Lahore need to get him early. If they do not, Multan bat around him and the game gets very one sided very quickly.
- Ashton Turner (C): Turner has Multan ticking along nicely with two wins from two games. He does not panic, reads the chase well and knows when to push and when to hold back. The runs he scores at the back end often do not look flashy but they win matches. Lahore will need to dry him up and create pressure early if they want to stop him finishing things off.
- Mohammad Wasim Jr: Wasim brings genuine pace to this Multan attack and is a handful with the new ball. He took two wickets in the previous match and has the ability to trouble any top order with his speed and bounce. At Gaddafi Stadium where the pitch can assist pace early on, he is a serious threat.
- Shan Masood: Masood knows these conditions better than most and brings experience and solidity to the Multan middle order. He does not give his wicket away cheaply and has the ability to build a big innings when the top order gets him in on a good platform.
LHQ
- Shaheen Shah Afridi (C): Fakhar Zaman is banned and that puts even more on Shaheen’s shoulders. He has to lead the side, take the new ball and somehow find a way to stop Farhan before he gets going. That opening battle between Shaheen and Farhan is the match up that could decide everything. Lahore win that contest, they are in the game. They lose it, they are chasing the match from ball one.
- Mohammad Naeem: Naeem now carries the opening role largely on his own without Fakhar beside him. He has shown in patches that he can be aggressive at the top and Lahore badly need him to turn those patches into a full innings. A big score from Naeem changes the shape of this match completely.
- Haris Rauf: Rauf alongside Shaheen gives Lahore a genuine pace partnership that can hurt any batting lineup. His ability to generate raw pace and hit the hard lengths consistently makes him a constant threat. In a high scoring game at Gaddafi Stadium, his wicket taking ability in the powerplay and death overs will be crucial.
- Usama Mir: Mir brings leg spin variations that can deceive even the best batters on a flat Lahore surface. His ability to control the middle overs and create pressure through flight and turn makes him a key weapon for Lahore. Against a Multan batting lineup that relies heavily on right handers at the top, his match ups are well worth watching.

LHQ vs MS Pitch Report โ Gaddafi Stadium
Gaddafi Stadium is a batter’s ground. The outfield is quick, the pitch is flat and scores of 178 and above are common here. Both sides will back themselves to post a big total on this surface.
Recent heavy rains could leave some early moisture on the pitch, giving the pacers a bit to work with during the powerplay. As the innings moves on though, the surface eases out and batting becomes more comfortable.
Dew in the second innings is expected to play a big role. The ball gets slippery and harder to grip, which takes the spinners out of the game and allows it to skid onto the bat nicely. The captain who wins the toss will almost certainly look to bowl first and avoid dealing with a wet ball in the back half of the match.
LHQ vs MS Toss Prediction – PSL 2026
Gaddafi Stadium has a history of dew playing a significant role in the second innings, making it harder for spinners to grip the ball under lights. LHQ are predicted to win the toss and elect to bowl first. Playing at home, Shaheen Afridi will want to use the conditions early with the new ball, restrict Multan to a chaseable total and then back his batters to get the job done with a dew-assisted surface in their favour.
